One thing I know for sure is that you can have the best product or service in the world, but if no one knows about it, it will be darn tough to have a successful based based small business.  So we, at Northstar At Home Based Business have created several tools to help you put together your work from home company marketing strategy.

We know it’s critical for you to be able to define your target market so we start by asking you to describe your business’ product or service — what problem does it solve, how does it benefit your customer and who is most likely to want to use your product or service? It does not matter if you are a traditional or part of the home based Internet businesses world: you’re understanding of theses issues is paramount to the success of your top home business.

It’s really important that you can clearly articulate WHY your product (or service — for brevity sake from now on just product) is needed by your customers – all products should solve a problem or fulfill a need.  What is the WORST thing that could happen to your customer if they don’t buy your product?  Really think about that question so you understand ALL of the benefits your product provides.

Then you need to take a close look at where similar products are being used and sold — in other words — check out the competition for ideas.  I’ve found that I can get some of my ideas by becoming a “customer” of my competition.  I see what works and what doesn’t — what I like and what I would change — then I do it.

Then I ask myself to describe “who is my target market” and ask the question — where do they congregate?  Where do they go for entertainment?  Where do they do their shopping?  What kinds of magazines, newspapers and newsletters do they subscribe to?  What kind of TV and radio stations do they listen to?

Once you’ve gotten all those questions answered, you can begin to put together the marketing strategy that will make your top home based business super successful.
