I read a recent Small Business report that estimates 85 million people will start a new business in 2011. Many of them will be a home based small business — and most will fail. In fact, depending on who you read, somewhere between 50% to 90% will fail within the first year.

WOW — that’s somewhere between 42.5 and 76.5 million business failures! Or another way to put it: between 8.5 and 42.5 businesses will succeed! Why do you suppose so many fail; and knowing the answer will tell you why there are many successes as well?

Now I don’t know about you, but I prefer to be in the success category!

Having the right plan enables you to know how to spend your time, where to spend your money and how to make the right decisions.  Once you’ve got the right plan, including your home business Internet marketing strategy, you will know the right moves to make all along the way.

So if you’re just getting started — put the odds of success in your favor. Take the time to assess your resources, analyze your market, (including the competition), and build your business plan.
