I’m often asked to perform an assessment on a home based small business and the first thing I ask for is to see the business plan.

Interestingly, many at home based business owners do not have a written plan!

Entrepreneurs are notorious for “winging it”, but the difference between those who are successful and those who are not, is often the existence of a well thought out business plan.

Obviously you’re reading this on the Internet. Possibly it is because you have interest in what it takes to build a top home based business. A good plan requires a lot of thought even if you want to start off slow with just the ability to earn extra money from home.

Finally, you’ll have a section on money matters –  that will contain estimates on how much money you’ll need to conduct a start-up, the cash flow you project your business to achieve, a break even analysis that takes into account all your projected expenses, and so on.
